Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Hospitalized!

Siddaramaiah developed a mild fever last night and his situation is currently stable, revealed doctors.

Congress leader Siddaramaiah is hospitalized with Coronavirus and has been admitted to the same ward with Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa. Siddharamiah had developed a mild fever last night and underwent the Covid-19 antigen test where it was revealed positive.

Siddaramaiah asked those who came in contact with him to check for symptoms and quarantine themselves. He tweeted, ”I have been tested positive for #Covid19 & also been admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors as a precaution. I request all those who had come in contact with me to check out for symptoms & to quarantine themselves.”

Manipal Hospital released a statement confirming Siddaramaiah is doing well and is currently in stable condition. “He (Siddaramaiah) is doing well and is stable currently. He is undergoing appropriate evaluation and management by a multidisciplinary team of doctors,” the statement read.

CM Yediyurappa, who shares the same ward with Siddaramaiah wished the former CM a speedy recovery. He said in a tweet, “I wish that he gets back to his routine activities soon, with good health.”

Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal Secular President, HD Deve Gowda, also wished Siddaramaiah a speedy recovery. “Former chief minister and opposition leader Siddaramaiah was shocked to learn of coronary infection. I wish they would heal quickly and engage in the service of the people. I wish Siddaramaiah a speedy recovery from COVID-19,” he tweeted tagging the former CM.

Coronavirus In Karnataka

Karnataka has seen a rapid rise in the spread of Coronavirus and Bengaluru is the hardest hit with a steady number of 2000+ cases per day and Karnataka with 5000+ cases each day. As of August 4, 2020, Coronavirus positive cases stand at 1,39,571 with 2,594 deaths. Bengaluru stands at 60,998 positive cases with 1,104 deaths. India is seeing a mammoth rise of positive cases with 18,58,689 cases and 39,002 deaths.
