CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Promotes Assam During South Korea Visit

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is on a five-day visit to South Korea and Japan. During his time in Seoul, he led the Advantage Assam 2.0 roadshow to promote Assam as an emerging investment destination. Promoting The Growth Of Assam

Speaking at the gathering, CM Sarma emphasized Assam’s potential to become a vibrant hub for investment. He highlighted Assam’s growing importance in various sectors, including infrastructure, electronics, aerospace, renewable energy, and tourism. Sarma stated, “We respect Korea’s remarkable development in manufacturing. Today, we are here to invite industries to collaborate with us.”

He further pointed out the state’s rich resources and the opportunities it offers to businesses willing to invest and expand in the region.

The Chief Minister also announced the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment Conclave, set for February 25-26 in Guwahati. The event will feature prominent industrial houses like TATA and other major players already operating in Assam. Sarma invited Korean industries to join the conclave and explore collaboration with Indian companies. He added, “India’s industrial houses are ready to develop the Northeast region, and there will be significant opportunities for collaboration.”

Fostering Global Partnerships

This roadshow is part of CM Sarma’s larger effort to attract global investments into Assam. He believes that strengthening partnerships with South Korea will benefit the state’s growth. The visit follows previous promotional events in Bhutan and will be followed by similar efforts in Singapore.

Sarma’s cabinet ministers are also conducting roadshows in cities like Dubai, London, and Bangkok to promote Assam’s investment potential. The goal is to highlight Assam’s diverse opportunities in key sectors, including infrastructure and technology, making it an attractive destination for foreign investments.

The Chief Minister’s visit underscores Assam’s growing relevance in the global economic landscape. By building ties with international industries, Assam is positioning itself as an investment hub that will contribute significantly to India’s overall growth.

With strategic investments and collaborations, Assam aims to tap into new industries, ensuring that the Northeast region sees sustainable development in the coming years. The roadshow in South Korea is a critical part of this mission to bring global attention to Assam’s vast untapped potential.
