Sikkim’s Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has announced a groundbreaking initiative to bring free Wi-Fi to the Dzongu constituency. The move aims to enhance digital access in the region and is part of the state government’s vision to improve internet connectivity across Sikkim.

A Major Step for Digital Progress

The free Wi-Fi project in Dzongu was revealed during the Namprikdang Namsoong Festival in Upper Dzongu. CM Tamang emphasized that the initiative would not only benefit the residents of Dzongu but also attract visitors, ensuring that both locals and tourists can access high-speed internet in remote areas.

Following Successful Precedents For Sikkim

The introduction of free Wi-Fi in Dzongu follows the success of a similar project in Rabdang village, located in the Singtam-Khamdong constituency. This initiative was implemented under the leadership of Minister NB Dahal, and has already yielded positive outcomes in terms of both local usage and tourism.

By expanding the free Wi-Fi project, the government hopes to further bridge the gap in digital accessibility. As Sikkim continues to move toward becoming a more digitally connected state, the government’s commitment to infrastructure improvement is evident.
