Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has notified that the upcoming Civil Services preliminary exam has been postponed.

UPSC Prelims 2021: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification announcing the postponement of the upcoming Civil Services preliminary exam on its official website – upsc.gov.in

According to UPSC Notice, the UPSC Prelims 2021 exam scheduled for June 27, 2021, has been postponed this year. According to the notice, the new date for UPSC preliminary exams is October 10, 2021. 

“Due to the prevailing conditions caused by the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Union Public Service Commission has deferred the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021, which was scheduled to be held on 27th June 2021. Now, this Examination will be held on 10th October 2021,” said the notice released by the Commission.

UPSC Prelims 2021 Exam Notification

UPSC Civil Services exams are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) annually. There are three different stages of the UPSC Civil Services Exam – UPSC Prelims, UPSC mains and interview to shortlist the best candidates for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. Other examinations under the UPSC have been postponed due to the prevailing Coronavirus situation in the country.
