Uttarakhand to observe complete lockdown on Saturday and Sunday to break COVID-19 chain

Uttarakhand: Lockdown will be imposed once again in Uttarakhand two days a week. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has ordered to implement lockdown on Saturday and Sunday in the view of increasing cases of corona infection in the state. The lockdown guidelines will be released today.

According to reports in a leading website, “The decision was taken after the sudden rise in COVID positive cases in the state. Yesterday 200 COVID positives were reported, taking the total over 4K. The number of virus cases has increased in the last few days, which is a matter of serious concern for all of us. The only way to curb the spread of pandemic is by breaking the chain. Thus, we have decided to impose lockdown on Saturday and Sunday,” said Trivendra Singh Rawat.

He also added that the lockdown is for this weekend only. Further decisions will be taken after the assessment. The decision for next week will be taken at the next meeting.

Rawat further said that they would soon issue the guidelines for it, which will include who would be allowed to enter the state and who would not. He also said that people should be allowed to enter the state only if they have some emergency work, and permission to stay in a hotel should be given on certain conditions.

The most of reported are of those who returned from different states like Delhi- NCR, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, etc. According to https://health.uk.gov.in/, a total of 4,102 cases were reported, 3096 have been recovered, 996 cases are active, and 51 have lost their lives. Over one lakh samples tested in the state and results of over 7400 cases are awaited.

India’s COVID-19 tally, on Friday, crossed 10 lakh. While 3.42 lakh of these are active cases, 6.35 lakh people have been recovered. Over 25,000 people have lost their lives.
